In June of 2024 when the annual peak season was beginning and the newly created Energy Manager position was not yet filled, Robert took the lead figuring things out related to the running of the new micro turbines and solar panels.  He managed and led process changes and scheduling of production in a way that greatly harnessed savings and plugged “holes” that he discovered in current energy monitoring.  The results were net YOY savings of $250k.  Robert additionally developed more efficient use of water at the mine, reducing water usage and electricity costs, resulting in $10k in savings in one month alone which leads to an expectation of EOY savings of $100k. Due to Robert’s value-added efforts, ODC’s YOY savings, future savings and reductions in energy are clearly significant!
